Lamparati

Lamparati
Lamparati is a collection of 3D printed lighting designs by Brooklyn-based artist and designer Robert Debbane. Inspired by forms found in nature, Islamic tile patterns, and images of outer-space, the designs have a sculptural presence when unlit. When turned on, they instantly become the focal point of a room.
What is 3D printing?
3D printing is a technology that allows a user to create a physical object from a file on a computer. In our case, we begin with an idea for a design, and start drawing it using a 3D CAD program. When we are ready to test the design, we convert the file, send it to our 3D printer, and wait for the part to build.
As 3D printing has become more affordable and accessible, it has given independent designers the tools to produce prototypes in house, and to even manufacture a finished product in their studio.
3D printing allows a designer to make a prototype or a finished object
and then and into a physical that in recent years has become more accessible and popular.
All lighting designs are made-to-order and all sizes and patterns can be customized. Orders are either printed in-house in ABS plastic, or else produced in nylon by a fabricator using SLS (Selective Laser Sintering). Many designs are available as pendant lights or table lights. The lighting shown on this site has been produced before, but we are always looking to create new designs or customize existing ones.
