New Lighting Designs Installed

We just installed these new pendant lamps as part of an apartment renovation. These designs are fabricated in nylon by selective laser-sintering (SLS). They are built as one piece, and the larger one (Moonrise) is close to the maximum build size for this process. For more on SLS, visit this page.

The Digital Design Studio: A Discussion at Wesleyan University

Robert Debbane will be part of a panel speaking about digital design on November 23 at Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut. He will be discussing the evolution of his work from traditional fine arts media to 3d modeling and printing. Please join us if you are in the area.

Galactica Assembly Animation

Here's a video of the Galactica 3D printed lamp being assembled. The parts are designed to snap together and printed on a Makerbot Replicator. Assembly takes about 30 minutes in real-time. The modular design allows us to make much larger designs than a desktop 3D printer would normally allow.
